There are two types of lasers most commonly used in laser resurfacing. One is a carbon dioxide (CO2) and the other a erbium. These lasers limit the amount of heat passed through the skin while safely vaporizing minute skin layers.

There are risks some may be burns, inflammation, scarring and infection. The newer lasers are being designed to be even safer than previous lasers reducing these risks as technology advances.
After laser surgery you may have to stay out of the sun for several months so that it doesn’t damage your skin after the procedure. Your skin may look like it has a bad sunburn and may take several weeks or months to completely heal.
The improvements on your skin may be seen shortly after surgery and in the months after you have it done. It can last for years and then as you age the wrinkles will come back, but this is a good option for quick reduction of facial wrinkles. Laser wrinkle removal may not be for everyone but it has worked well for many.
